Help Portrait, December 10th, 2011, Spread the word!
Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 7:21AM
It’s Official, On December 10th, 2011, a community of photographers, editors, make-up artists, hair stylist, and volunteers will come together as one to help professionally photographed the people in need within our community. Where if you are homeless, unemployed due to a loss of work, a single mom/dad with your children, sick from a life altering illness, elderly or even someone that is lonely, we invite and encourage you to join us at one of our 2 locations to get your professional portrait taken for FREE.
Help Portrait started with a vision by photographer Jeremy Cowart. He wanted to take one day in our day to day lives give something special back to the community. After spreading the word through social media, the response was unbelievable. With not knowing how many individual and families would show up to the first Help Portrait event, the results were overwhelming and amazing at the same time. To this day, over 100,000 portraits have been taken and given to those in need.
Now it’s your turn to be a part of this amazing and giving event. On December 10th, 2011, join us at one of the 2 locations.
Pitt Meadows - Heritage Hall (12460 Harris Road) from 9am-4pm
Maple Ridge - St Andrew Haney United Church (22165 Dewdney Trunk Rd) from 1pm-8pm.

Since the release of the Maple Ridge Article and The Bugle article, we have seen a huge response from within the community. I would like to personally thank Photo Express, Pitt Meadows Community Foundation, St Andrew’s United Church, Church on the Rock, Vicki McLeod Coach & Consultant, Becker & Company, Doug Bing, Crazy About Clothes Women’s Upscale Consignment, Stomping Grounds Coffee House and many more for their donations.
Now I have one last request from the community. I understand that we all can not help with the event due our busy schedules but there is one way you could help which will have great impact on this event. Please download and print off the Help Portrait Ridge Meadows Flyer and post it where ever it can be seen! Where if it as work, in a retail window, bus stops, coffee shops, community centers, give it to your neighbor, any where the word will spread. Almost everything is in place to make this event happen but we now need to spread the word over the next month. It’s time to make history in Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge!

This event will be a great advocacy. I like the idea of professionals helping ordinary people for free. I got to inform my friends about this. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kerby and please do inform others of this event, post the flyer and just spread the word!
