Help Portrait 2010 Summary and Thank You!

4 months ago, Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge hosted their very first Help Portrait event on December 10th. The final numbers have finally come in and I am ecstatic to share them with you. Help Portrait 2011 took place in 56 countries! With 4,984 photographers and 8,793 volunteers, together as one we gave an incredible 67,927 portraits this year. Check out the original blog post here for more details.

When I saw these final numbers, I was truly amazed. I am also amazed of how awesome the Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge volunteers were on December 10th. The Ridge Meadows Help Portrait event would not have been if it was not for their help, dedication, passion, and love for everyone that showed up to get their portrait taken. The day was a huge success and more importantly it laid down the foundations for next year's Help Portrait event.

Christy Clark visits Chilliwack / Agassiz, BC

Last Thursday afternoon, Christy Clark and Lorrie Throness made a special trip out to Chilliwack & Agassiz, BC. One of their primary stops was my work, Britco Structures. Both Christy and Lorrie were given a tour of our modular-design fabrication plant in which Christy was quite amazed at the process, the benefits, and the amount of jobs that it was providing to BC. At the end of their tour, both Christy and Lorrie gave a speech which focused around creating jobs for our province but also the importance of our families.

BC Worst Snow Fall in 15 years

Well the worst is over for this Winter and hopefully we are moving closer to Spring. Like last year, I managed to grab a few shots of the snow out in Agassiz, BC before the conditions became to dangerous to drive in. I worked from home on Tuesday in which I attempted the drive to work the following morning.

New Beginings

With 2012 twelve days in, life continues to keep busy and full of changes. Life as we know it can change in a blink in a eye; sometimes for the better, the worse, and the unknown. For me, life has been a roller coaster over the last 4 years. From the day I was told I would be a father of baby girl to the day I was given the news of great friend had unexpectedly passed away on vacation, life has been full of changes and moments

Help Portrait Pitt Meadows / Maple Ridge, BC 2011

This is it! With months of planning behind us, Help Portrait is 1 day away! We have seen the community come together in remarkable way where the true meaning behind Help Portrait has been seen in all of them. I can not thank everyone enough for what you have done. Where if it was a donation, signing up to be a volunteer, coordinating the administration in the background, working on signs for the event or even handing out flyers, you have ALL made this event possible. Thank You.

Help Portrait: End of the Earth

With only 2 days left until Help Portrait goes live, videos from all around the world are being uploaded and shared. Check out this amazing and touching video of how one team traveled from California to the deep ends of Russia to photograph the ones who may never get the opportunity to get their portrait taken.

Help Portrait is...

It is the last and final week before Help Portrait arrives to Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge. On December 10th, it is going to be a day of HOPE, Encouragement, LOVE, and Giving. My prayer and hope is for every individual that drops by to get their portrait taken is greatly impacted with a change that will last a lifetime.

At this point in time I do not know how many will show up to each site on December 10th. Regardless if 100 or just 1 show, up, I know we have done our job. This event could not be if it was not for the local business, local organizations and the people within the community that stepped up to volunteer. I am touched by this in which I have already grown close to a lot individuals that share the same vision that I do.

So I ask one last time, join me in this remarkable and touching event that will give a breath of fresh air to the ones that need it the most. Please download the flyer and pass it everyone you know. Let’s Spread the Word and make history in Ridge Meadows on December 10, 2011.

Movember 2011

November has come and gone. This year I decided to participate in Movember and grow a mustache for the very first time. When it comes to growing fascial hair, it takes my 4 times longer than the average male so my mustache no where as wild as the others.
